I love to stamp and love to teach others how easy it really is. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 precious little girls along with 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 3 dogs. I work full time so I tend to stamp and make videos in the middle of the night when the house is quiet :-) I am not a Stampin Up demo but most of what I use is from Stampin Up as I love their products and their service!
Feel free to use the ideas and templates on my site, a link back to my site if you do would be wonderful :-)
This is my version of fireworks for a New Year's card (or a birthday card or any kind of celebration card)...it was messy but kind of fun to create! I call it the 'PMS technique' :-)
The 'for you' tab pulls out to reveal a message. The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White.
Todays video is short and sweet, see below. We made this beautiful card at Liz's Stamper's 10 group a short while ago. The way we embossed using Silver and Gold seemed so easy after we had done it but I never would have thought to do it in the first place...it's a really pretty effect.
Colors are Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Silver and Gold embossing powder.
While we were on vacation a few weeks ago we happened to be camping near a place that I used to spend most of my summers at as a child. My Grandma had a house on Mara Lake and my Aunts and Uncles had farms near her back then...we had no idea how blessed we were to spend our summers swimming and riding horses!
I have told my daughters many times about Grandma's beach so while we were there we drove in for the day and visited family and we were graciously allowed by Lyndon, the now owner of the house to visit the beach.
Tonight after making a 'Thank you' card for Lyndon I went to look at some pictures of the girls on the beach to add in the card and realized how similar one of the pictures was to the card I had made for her. Kind of funny how that goes sometimes :-)
The card colors are Bashful Blue and Creamy Caramel and some designer paper.
The video shows the faux sewing technique and also the use of Watercolor Wonder Crayons and yes, as usual the Stamp-a-ma-jig :-)
It's Thursday again! I think doing these Three Minute Thursdays every week makes me realize just how quickly time passes by and also reminds me to take it all in and try to enjoy every minute of it.
Todays card is a simple yet elegant card (by Liz of course :-) When I made this card in one of her classes some time ago I remember purchasing everything on the card (that happens quite often) as it's such a versatile card. It works for a thank you card, a birthday card or even a sympathy card.
Cardstock used is Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold and Naturals Ivory.
I was looking through some old videos the other day and found one of my older daughter(she was 3 years old at the time) making a pretty cool card. I helped her with the embossing and tying the ribbon but she did everything else!
Kids just love to let their imaginations run wild and have fun in crafting! I have two girls and they teach me every day just how creative you can be when you let yourself create with the mind of a child! Try it, you might just find that you like what you come up with...maybe not, but it sure is fun to try :-)
Wonder what else you can do with page protectors? Try out the quick and easy Fossil Stone technique! If you don't have page protectors I'll show you what you can use as a substitute that I'm sure you will have around the house.
I am also using the Stamp-a-ma-jig again in this video...it's one of my favorite tools!
It's Thursday again and time for another three minute card. The cards on Three Minute Thursdays are ones that hopefully allow you to create something in a short period of time and by changing the colors of the card and using different stamps and it will give a totally different feel to the card you create!
Todays card uses a faux shaving cream technique which is somewhat simpler than the real shaving cream technique but still looks kind of neat. Hope you have a great day of stamping!
We arrived home safe from our three week adventure with 2 kids and 3 dogs...great time was had by all but happy to be home!
Thought I would post the video on how to create this unique origami star card...Newsletter subscribers had the first peek at the video :-)
I made this for my daughter's kindergarten graduation card so I added a couple of origami stars to the card I gave her and she loved it! Be warned though, the squishing down and fluffing up of the origami stars can be quite addicting :-)
Many of you have been asking if I could make a video for the Fishy shaker card, so I did. I used fun foam instead of carpet tape as trying to use carpet tape on a small circle was just not happening :-)
I also show how to make the scallops on the outside edge of circle with the slit punch in the video as well.
If you have kids (or even if you don't), you might have these lying around the house...in a panic after not being able to find my stamp-a-ma-jig one day, I created a make shift one :-)
It's not as good as the real thing but it works in a pinch!!
