I love to stamp and love to teach others how easy it really is. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 precious little girls along with 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs and 3 dogs. I work full time so I tend to stamp and make videos in the middle of the night when the house is quiet :-) I am not a Stampin Up demo but most of what I use is from Stampin Up as I love their products and their service!
Feel free to use the ideas and templates on my site, a link back to my site if you do would be wonderful :-)
This is a very simple little treat holder to make and so much fun to play with...and to give away as well of course.
It uses a 6" x 6" piece of cardstock (alter the dimensions and score lines if you need it larger or smaller) and is scored at 2 3/4" and again at 5 1/2", fold the scored lines, punch a hole at the top, add a stamped image piece to the front, then add ribbon and your treat and it's done!
Super easy and super cute! If you like a visual, check out the video below (it also shows how to emboss the edges of the stamped image... Liz showed me this a few years back...very cool:-) Thanks for stopping by!
Just thought I would share with you the cards I finally made for the Operation Quiet Comfort on Splitcoast HERE.
If you changed the colors and the theme, this would make a great card to send at Christmas as you could put a magnet on the back of the little note to be used as a fridge magnet (liz's idea), or you could put a picture of your family or kids instead of a little note and have that as a fridge magnet.
This card was Liz's design and I just love it! If you want the dimensions of the card, check out the other post HERE. Thanks for stopping by!
This was a card that Lizdesigned and made. I just love it! It's simple yet beautiful. I thought this would make a great sketch card for those of you (like me) who struggle with creating cards from scratch. Stamp an image on the left with some ribbon or whatever accessories you want to use and then a piece of Designer paper on the right and a greeting on top of it (embossed or not). Use different colors, different stamps, change the card to sit the other way...make it your own style as it's just a starting point.
In case you wanted to know, she embossed the tree on glossy white cardstock using a mixture of white embossing powder and irridescent ice embossing powder and then brayered over it with the cotton candy spectrum pad (emboss/resist stamping technique). If you don't have a spectrum pad and want to make your own, take a peek at this video.
Sketches are very popular these days as it gives a starting point to create a card or a scrapbook page without having to start from scratch. Usually you start with a sketch and then create the card, I did this one backwards as I wanted to give you an idea of what the sketch would look like as well. Thanks for stopping by today!
I just love these little explosion boxes...they are great little boxes just on their own with a greeting on the inside, or you can add someone's favorite tea bags or a little cello with candies and chocolates, etc and it makes a cute little gift to give a neighbour, co-worker or teachers.
These little boxes have been around for quite some time. The first time I made one was in a class taught by Karen Duke about four years ago or so (it was the first cardmaking class I took and what a fantastic first class I experienced!!). We also made them in one of Liz's classes and I taught others how to make them when I was teaching cardmaking at Michaels last year.
They are so easy to make and there are so many ways to decorate them, simple or fancy! The bottom of the box is 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" and scored at 2 1/2" and 5" both ways and the lid is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and is scored at 3/4" on all sides. Check out the video for all the rest of the details. Thanks for stopping in!
Just thought I would share a simple Christmas card I created. The cardstock is Not Quite Navy and Whisper White and the Stampin Up stamp sets used are 'Season of Joy' and 'Priceless'.
The stamped image piece and the matted piece underneath it have been crimped with the crimper and then some cord and brads were added. Thanks for stopping by!
I take thousands of pictures (and yes, for those of you who switched over to digital and are a few years behind on printing them out, I am one of you :-), many are pictures of cards that I have been taken at workshops or regionals that I have gone to in the past.
This card was one of those pictures as I just LOVED the cute little penguins in the snow so I decided to make it tonight (as always, if you are the original designer of the card, let me know and I will post your name and a link to your site if you have one).
The card is quick and easy to make but so cute! It uses a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Whisper White folded in half as the base, a 3 1/4" x 4" piece of Night of Navy and a 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White torn to make the snow on the ground. Just stamp the penguins (from the Stampin' Up Stamp set 'Wild about you') and cut them out, stamp snow on the Night of Navy piece with the Itty Bitty Background stamp and White Craft Ink, tear the Whisper White piece and sponge Night of Navy on, stamp the sentiment and the card is done! For those of you that would rather have a visual, see the video below.
We have had two little girls my daughter's ages (3, 6) staying with us this past week so we have been able to experience having four kids! It's been wonderful but also a bit tiring (especially as I had some kind of flu bug and my husband was away till late at night...not the best timing :-), but we have had some great girl's nights crafting! I can't wait to show you what they have been creating as the week's gone on...so much fun! Anyways, the videos this week will be short and sweet :-) Thanks for stopping by!
One of the challenges going on at Splitcoast right is one called 'Operation: Quiet Comfort'. It's to send cards to wounded soldiers and medical staff. Create some cards (Patriotic, Get Well, Thinking of you, Thank you) to send...add a personal note inside, have your family and friends sign it if you like. All the information and an address where to send your card/s can be found
We created this beautiful card at one of Liz's classes. I will be creating more of these in different colors to send to some of the soldiers and medical staff. If you don't have time to make any but you have cards that you have already made that would be appropriate, this would be a great place to send some of them!
The card base is 4 1/4" x 11" of Kiwi Kiss, folded in half. The Whisper White piece was 4" x 5 1/4" and then the top was scalloped with the Scallop Edge punch and the outer edges were sponged with Kiwi Kiss. The Pocket Silhouette stamp set was stamped on the white using Kiwi Kiss and then the sentiment added with Basic Black. The envelope was made with The Big shot and the Scallop Envelope die cut and adhered to the card. The little card inside was made with a 2" x 3" piece of Kiwi Kiss and a 1 7/8" x 2 7/8" piece of Whisper White adhered to it which has the Pocket Silhouette stamped in Kiwi Kiss and also a Define Your Life stamp in Basic Black. Double sided Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon was added around the Whisper White piece before adhering it all to the card front. Thanks for looking!
It's a day to remember and a day to pray for those who are still in battle. It's hard to even think about what those in the past had to endure and those who still fight are going through... leaving loved ones behind is hard enough, going without food, living in fear...watching your friends die...having to kill others...all so that we can live the way we do. May we take some time today and stop and think and be thankful...
I was going through some of my old swaps from a few years back and this Christmas card popped out at me so I thought I would make it tonight and share the dimensions. The name on the back of the swap was gcarolyn. I thought it looked fairly simple...do you ever do that? Think a card is fairly simple and won't take very long to make and then it surprises you. I hate to admit it, but it happens to me more often than not...so yes, you can only imagine how long it takes me to make a video :-)
I love the simplicity of this card. It uses the Stampin' Up stamp set 'The Snowflake Spot' and the words are from 'All Year Cheer I' (used a black marker on the PEACE and the sign part of the stamp).
The base of the card is Real Red cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and then folded in half. The horizontal piece is Whisper White cut at 1 3/4" x 4 1/4". The three strips of Basic Black are each 5/16" x 4 1/4" (in my old way of measuring instead of 5/16", I would have said 1/4" plus a tic mark). The vertical white piece is Whisper White cut at 2 1/8" x 4 1/4 and the Basic Black piece that has the snowflake on it is 1 3/4" x 2 1/4".
I would suggest using an embossing buddy if you have one as you will really notice the little white stray bits on a black background if you don't use one (speaking from recent experience :-). I have heard you can make an embossing buddy with cornstarch. If anyone has tried this let us know if it works or not. After swiping with your buddy, stamp the snowflake using VersaMark and emboss with white embossing powder. When you adhere the black strips on the white paper, I found it easier to adhere the top one and then the bottom one and then do the middle one, it's easier to center. Thanks for stopping by!
Today's card is a very simple Christmas card and very easy to make and uses one of my long time favorite stamps from Stampin' Up, Lovely as a tree. I just want to mention (though most of you know), that you don't need to use the same stamp sets or same colors, etc. when using an idea. Try changing up the colors or use a different stamp set or leave the colors and stamp set the same and change the design of the card. I have experienced some of the beautiful work that some of you have created from the cards and projects I have shown and by just changing a few things, it gives it a totally different look!
In saying that I will let you know what I used for today's card. The stamps are from the stamp sets Lovely as a Tree and Heard from the Heart. The cardstock and dimensions are: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Not Quite Navy (folded in half for the card base), 4" x 5 1/4" Brushed Gold and 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White (these are easier dimensions than what I used originally). The ink is Not quite Navy.
Ink up the tree stamp with Not Quite Navy ink. Stamp once, then move slightly up and to the left (or right) and stamp again without reinking. Add dazzling diamonds to trees and ground with a glue pen.
My daughter had a birthday to to go last weekend so I decided to make a card for her friend (usually I leave things to the last minute and buy one as I don't have time to make one...isn't that bad!!). She really likes the waterfall cards so I tried to find my printed instructions and no luck...so I went to my blog and watched my video :-)
I had some Princess papers from Michaels hanging around and the colors seemed to match Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue so I cut out a few of the pictures to use as my images.
For the background I used the a piece of Glossy White and stamped on it with a Stampin Up wheel using Black Stazon, colored some images with a white crayon (crayon resist technique) and then used a sponge to apply the pink and blue ink on top. Took a keenex and buffed where the crayon was to remove any ink and then finished the rest of the card.
If you haven't tried making a waterfall card yet, check out my video HERE as it's much easier than it might seem!
Can you believe it's November already! If you find you are too busy to make homemade fudge but want to give a cute and funny little gift to others, this might just be the thing.
Liz made us each one of these a few years ago and I thought they are such cute gifts! I used a wheel to make my background paper, but just using a single stamp would work as well. I used Elegant Eggplant cardstock and ink for mine.
Check out the quick video on how to make it and download the poem!
Wow, it has been quite the week. We have had both our vehicles break down...our youngest fell out the little zipper door of the trampoline (it's never usually open...she was OK thankfully) and our older daughter fainted which was a really scary experience (I took her to emergency but they couldn't find anything wrong with her so they said just to monitor her).
The good news is that we all seem to be over the cold/flu for now and the weather has been just beautiful :-)
Today's video is on how to make glass ornaments by stamping or using a picture for the inside of the ornament. I made the one with the picture a few years ago for everyone in our family...kind of a neat Christmas keepsake gift to give others. Watch the video and try it out if you haven't made one before.
I also just want to thank those of you who have emailed for the nice comments you have made about my site. It's really nice to hear from you and nice to be getting to know some of you better! I also thank you for emailing cards that you have made from watching some of the videos...I hope to create a gallery soon and add your cards to the gallery. Also if anyone has any questions or corrections that you notice that need to be made or just to say hi, you can email me or leave a comment in the comment section at the bottom of the post.
