It was World Cardmaking day last Saturday and even though I have been a member of Splitcoast for over 3 years I have never had the time to participate in any of the challenges they offer. I decided that was going to be the day...well, the night. So I stayed up most of the night and had so much fun!! If you have never tried taking any of the challenges, you should! I CASE many cards to send to family and friends because I always need something in a hurry so I don't usually ever have time just to sit and play, well now I want to do it more often!
There is such sense of community there...everyone is so friendly and helpful and such hard workers!! I bought the fan club membership just to contribute something...being able to browse through the galleries a few years ago kept me sane while nursing a colicky baby for hours on end. If for some strange bizarre reason you haven't heard of them, click HERE to visit them.
This was a card I made for one of the challenges which was the sketch challenge. I stamped using the Stampin Up stamp 'Upsy Daisy' on Whisper White and then cut it into strips and distressed each with my distressing tool. I stamped the words and then cut out a mask and sponged over the words and matted and added it with dimensionals. I sponged Pacific Point on a piece of white ribbon and added that as well...the cardstock color used is Pacific Point. Try out a challenge as it really allows you to be creative without having to think as hard as you would from scratch.
