Back August 11 with more videos!

Hi everyone.  

Just wanted to let you know that we are having a wonderful time visiting family and friends on our fabulous three week vacation and will be back to posting regularly after August 11.  Check back again after that time for some really exciting new cards and technique videos!

Three Minute Thursday - Love Card

 

I can't believe it's already Thursday again!  Time just flies when you're having fun :-)

Today is another quick and elegant card.  This was another card designed by Liz.

Liz teaches classes throughout the summer and stamping clubs in the fall.  They are a ton of fun!  If you are in the Edmonton area and would like information on her classes and clubs just send  an email to Liz.

Shaker Card - you asked for it, you got it!

 

Many of you have been asking if I could make a video for the Fishy shaker card, so I did.  I used fun foam instead of carpet tape as trying to use carpet tape on a small circle was just not happening :-)

I also show how to make the scallops on the outside edge of circle with the slit punch in the video as well.

Black and White Mini Album

I just love this mini album!!  My sister created the design of the album and had sent me a 'new baby' one a few years ago and since then I have been using the design to create many different albums (one of my favorites was a bird book we made this past winter to put photos of the birds we fed during the winter).

This particular one my daughter and I made one for her teacher for the end of the school year....we added pictures of her and her teacher, a poem we wrote for her, we put my daughters hand print on one of the pages and then an overlay of what she liked best about her teacher and on the final two pages added a gift certificate and also a drawing my daughter did of her and her teacher. It was very cute and super fast to make (you gotta love that!).

Coloring ribbon the quick and easy way

I was making these cards in different colors and realized when making the Lovely Lilac card that I didn't have ribbon to match. 

I didn't want to color it using reinkers because it takes too long and it's hard to control the color so I colored it the quick and easy way.

Three Minute Thursday - make a card in three minutes or less

Today I was reminiscing back about 5 years to when I was a new stamper. 

I thought about some of things that had helped me grow. 

One of them was to be able to learn to make quick cards which I thought I would share with all of you each Thursday for the next little while.

'Three minute Thursday' is here.  Each Thursday I will choose cards that are quick yet elegant and I will share them in a video along with a downloadable Quick Reference guide. 

I hope it helps you that are new stampers or even those of you that are demos and want to demo some quick but elegant cards.

Stampers 10 Celebrate!

The Stampers 10 group that I was going to wrapped up in May.  It was such a fun year! 

The classes revolved around finding items from different categories (fashion, nature, food, advertising, etc) and then designing a card around the items we chose. 

We could use the colors or the design or whatever else inspired us from the item to make the card with. 

This particular card was designed after looking at a picture of a structure in Australia (I think)....I can't find the structure at the moment but here is the card :-) 

It was a wonderful group of ladies led by Liz..it really helped us to think out-of-the-box.

 

 

Cardstock:  Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, Whisper White

Inks:  Versa Mark, Tempting Turquoise, Lovely Lilac

Embossing Powder:  Black, White, Silver

Stamps:  Tres Chic, Wonderful Words

Accessories:  Silver Cord

Tools:  Embossing gun,  scissors

Technique:  Tearing, Embossing

Create your own Stamp-a-ma-jig!

 

If you have kids (or even if you don't), you might have these lying around the house...in a panic after not being able to find my stamp-a-ma-jig one day, I created a make shift one :-) 

It's not as good as the real thing but it works in a pinch!!
